Absolutely unique piece of our master painter from Unterammergau. Our painter has devoted his whole life to perfecting the Flemish Renaissance as well as Antwerp Mannerism. The painting was done using the original oil glaze technique, in which the scene is built up several times in layers. This old-master technique creates an incredibly intense depth of color.
The opened triptych shows the Adoration of the Magi – a faithful copy of a Renaissance masterpiece by Pieter Coecke van Aelst (1502 – 1550). Closed, it shows the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary – inspired by an unknown Flemish painter and contemporary of van Aelst.
The frame was made of lime wood and spruce and set with a 24 ct. Gold leaf gilding. The dimensions are: 54 x 41 inch.
